Q. What do you wear on the day of our wedding?
A. The photographer wears a suit, shirt and tie.
Q. How far will you travel to photograph a wedding?
A. I will travel as far as you ask. Included in all packages is travel within the West Somerset area. Click here for a map of the area covered. Additional mileage is charged at 40p per mile. If overnight accommodation is necessary, this will be charged at cost.
Q. Do you use film?
A. No. I am completely digital. I use Nikon DSLR's, with Nikon lenses.
Q. Can you take black & white photos?
A. Yes. All images will be captured in the RAW file format, and processed accordingly, if preferred images can then be converted to black and white before printing. The original file will not be affected.
Q. Do I have to have an album with my package?
A. No. All our packages are without an album and/or photobook. If you choose to add an album, this is fine and we will put this together for you with your guidance as to which images you would like included.
Q. So the album isn't included in the price of my package?
A. No. I try to keep prices at a level where the basic package is good value, and if you want an album, there are several choices for you. Many couples get given an album as a wedding present, and wish to use this.
Q. Can I have a different album from the ones you do?
A. Yes. I have selected what I consider to be the best from the excellent Loxley and Pixum range, so I would be surprised if there wasn't something there for everyone. If, however, you find a 'must have' album, I will build it the same as I do the albums in the range.
Q. And how much will that cost me?
A. That will depend on the cost of the album, and the time taken to build it.
Q. So, what are these credits and how do I use them?
A. The 'Credit towards prints' allows you time after the event to think about what you want, and use this to go towards the cost. Whether this is a few prints or an album. It has no cash value, and cannot be refunded against the cost of any package
Q. Can I have an album created after the event, even though I haven't added it to my initial package?
A. Yes. I am happy to create an album and/or photobook for you after the event. Enlargements, extra prints and any other gifts in the range are also available after the event.
Q. What can I do with the photos on the CD/DVD?
A. Anything you like, they will be low resolution JPEG's, which will be fine for use on the web - Facebook etc. There are certain restrictions on the use of images, in that no commercial gain can be made from the images.
Q. Who owns the images?
A. I own copyright on all images. If you purchase a CD/DVD of high resolution jpegs, I will assign rights to you to print the images for yourself.
Q. How do I order prints/albums/gifts from you?
A. All images taken on the day will be available on the website within 72 hours. You will be given a username and password to access your own area. From here, you will be able to view and order items.
Q. If I buy a disc with the high resolution images on, can I get extra prints from my local Superstore?
A. Yes. The images on the disc are suitable for printing up to A1 (594mm x 841mm). Please note that all images are processed on a calibrated display prior to printing, so externally sourced prints may not be as good as the originals.
Q. What if I don't want to buy anything from you with my credit, can I have it in cash?
A. No, as stated earlier, this credit has no cash value. It is provided as part of the package.
Q. Some photographers provide a proof book of images, do you do this?
A. Yes, I can provide a Loxley Preview (Proof) Book. The books are "perfect bound" and are sized at approximately 10x8 inches. The fixed cover is laminated for durability. The books can hold up to 700 files and are printed on both sides (6 images per side). The page finish is satin coated 170gsm paper, covers are satin coated 300gsm paper with a gloss laminate for protection and longevity. Prices are as follows; Softback up to 300 images £99 - up to 700 images £129. Hardback up to 300 images £149 - up to 700 images £179.
Q. I would prefer not to have my images used on your web site as advertising, is this possible?
A. I like to use a couple of images taken at each wedding, just for variation really. If however, you would prefer me not to, I will respect your wishes.
Q. Do you photograph Civil Partnerships?
A. Yes. I am happy to photograph any ceremony for any couple, at any venue.
